A tad annoyed with DA's recent art crackdown...

So apparently I wake up this morning to find a shit ton of notes in my inbox! Someone reported a lot of my Lion King work and I guess DA decided to take them down as a copyright violation. I'm seriously a little annoyed. ( not mad I do think DA needs to work on removing copyrighted material here ) I didn't even get to save some of my older work off of here. There should be warnings before this stuff happeneds. The artist has a right to comment before immediate action is taken. Yes I try really hard to imitate the style that was portrayed in the movies, but their not copies of Disney backgrounds you fools! I have photoshop files hell even some video files that can prove its my own work. Ya know I take it as a complement that I guess some of my work looks good enough to be mistaken for disney stuff, but damn. They keep praising direct traced outlines of Anime drawings right from manga pages, but they delete my stuff! DA seriously needs to think before they take action!

To the ass hole that reported my gallery, think before you report shit!

To those that think I might be some sort of hypocrite... I actually have a legal working license to Photoshop CS3. And I have a e-mail from Buena Vista Studios asking to use one of my works as concept art reference for the artists to use in Kingdom Hearts 2 game. Disney is at least aware of my art in that respect and has praised me for it. If they were pissed they would have tried to sue me directly!

I would report it to the staff show them the files and try to reupload the work. It's listed as fanart and shouldn't be removed.
